In this Sector Risk Monthly, we analyze the opportunities and challenges for the communications sector. Identifying areas of common cooperation to addressing key opportunities and challenges will be important both for the incoming administration as well as for the private sector. These actors must work together to promote economic and social development, improve democracy, increase network coverage, improve the efficiency of government services, and establish regulations that guarantee transparency in the new platforms for political participation.
