In a global context shaped by geopolitical tensions, Colombia has adopted a "strategic ambiguity" strategy in its relationship with Russia. While some Latin American countries maintain strong ties with Moscow, Colombia has oscillated between distancing itself and engaging pragmatically under the Petro administration.
This report examines the political, economic, and military implications of this relationship, as well as the potential impact of Colombia’s accession to BRICS. It also analyzes how the war in Ukraine and other global conflicts influence Colombia’s foreign policy. Through a critical lens, we assess the risks and opportunities of these ties in a rapidly evolving international landscape.
