Special Report: National Strike

The national strike, which began with the protest called by students, indigenous groups, and workers' unions on November 21, has proven to last longer and be more diverse than what the government or any analyst predicted. It seems paradoxical that although Colombia is growing at a higher rate than its regional peers, the sense that citizens do not share that prosperity has resulted in growing social unrest. Also, the protests show that great division remains regarding the implementation of the peace agreement.
